On fire: Robert Lewandowski hit four past Real Madrid in their semi-final first leg |
An
all-Spanish European final? We might not have that, at least not this season. After Bayern Munich took apart Barcelona on Tuesday night, last night saw Borusssia Dortmund conduct a ruthless open-heart surgery on Real Madrid at Westfalenstadion. This happened in a manner that few thought impossible, given the cussedness of their portuguese coach, Jose Mourinho.
Borussia
Dortmund's performance, and in particular Robert Lewandowski was super
brilliant. Following Wednesday night's result, an all-German final at
Wembley now seems almost guaranteed - and, on this evidence, no one will be
complaining (except Cristiano Ronaldo perhaps).
There's no wonder that German football is being hailed as the best in Europe. - Not only for their exciting branding of football but cheap tickets, great atmosphere and even better beer! - Mirror UK
The top two Bundesliga clubs can as well be the top two
in Europe right now, and while they might be 20 points apart in their domestic
league, seeing them go at it hammer and tongs, donner und blitzen, for 90
minutes will simply be exciting.
