An all-Spanish European final? We might not have that, at least not this season. After Bayern Munich took apart Barcelona on Tuesday night, last night saw Borusssia Dortmund conduct a ruthless open-heart surgery on Real Madrid at Westfalenstadion. This happened in a manner that few thought impossible, given the cussedness of their portuguese coach, Jose Mourinho. 

Borussia Dortmund's performance, and in particular Robert Lewandowski was super brilliant. Following Wednesday night's result, an all-German final at Wembley now seems almost guaranteed - and, on this evidence, no one will be complaining (except Cristiano Ronaldo perhaps).
